To be considered for admission, students must be 16-18 years old, out of school for two months (or have a long-term absence designation), and have at least an eighth grade reading level. To begin the admissions process, interested youth and their parent(s)/guardian or other support person will need to:

  • Attend a Open House (Open Housess are usually scheduled a month prior to the start of the fall, winter and summer sessions).
  • Take a Stanford 10 Reading test at the Open House.
  • Meet with an admissions and evaluation counselor for a personal interview, during which potential students will be asked about their past educational experiences, commitment to a full-time, year-round program, and personal issues that may impact their efforts at CUNY Prep.
